Free Guided Tour of the Tractor Museum (Ungerichthof Kuens)

A journey into the history of agricultural mechanics

In the small municipality of Kuens, the smallest in South Tyrol, located at the entrance to the Passeier Valley and just a few kilometers from Merano, lies the historic farm and inn, Ungericht Hof. In the inn's annex, a private museum collection has been curated, which opens to the public on the first Friday of every month from August to November with a free guided tour at 3:00 PM, led by the owner in both Italian and German.

Over 60 vintage tractors

The heart of the museum is its collection of historic tractors: more than sixty restored vehicles, including about forty Porsche-Diesel models and five Porsche-Diesel Master specimens from different years. The oldest piece is a Balilla tractor by Motomeccanica of Milan, dating back to 1929. The tour traces the evolution of agricultural mechanization, a theme that carries special significance in a mountain valley like the Passeier Valley, balancing the hardships of farming with technical ingenuity.

More than just tractors: Vespas and dolls

The Ungerichthof collection goes beyond tractors. The owner has also gathered about thirty Piaggio scooters, including a rare 1956 Vespa Struzzo and a model with a sidecar. Completing the exhibition is a collection of about two hundred historic Schildkröt dolls, each with its own story. The museum experience thus combines the memory of South Tyrolean rural life with the material culture of the 20th century.
