Three days at the WiMu in Barolo featuring wine, music, words, and women's stories
During the International Women's Day weekend, the WiMu - Wine Museum of Barolo kicks off its season with Women. Shades of Vines, an event that transforms Castello Falletti into a space for storytelling, meetings, and conviviality. The festival, organized by the Barolo & Castles Foundation, takes place in the town of Barolo, in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of the Piedmontese Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The event gives voice to the 'pink revolution' that has swept through the world of Barolo: female producers, authors, and historical figures linked to the territory become the protagonists of a program that unites wine, music, literature, and memory. The common thread is the role of women in the history of the Langhe and in the production of the great Piedmontese wine, from the noblewomen of the past to the female winemakers of today.
The initiatives take place in the halls of the WiMu, one of the most innovative museum installations in Italy, and in the evocative Wine Tourist Temple, the convivial heart of the museum. The evenings combine gastronomic offerings, musical moments, and toasts, while the days offer book presentations, thematic tours, and guided tastings of Barolo.
Among the recurring themes of the event is the figure of Giulia Falletti di Barolo, a benefactress marchioness deeply linked to the history of the castle and the territory. Guided tours dedicated to her life and legacy enrich the program with a historical and cultural focus, accompanied by a tasting of the wine that bears the name of these lands.
Women. Shades of Vines is held in Barolo (CN), in Piedmont, at the WiMu in Castello Falletti. For the updated program, times, and booking methods, we recommend checking the museum's official website.
