About Winery Night

Winery Night (Kellernacht) is the premier wine tourism event along the South Tyrol Wine Road. For one evening in June, historic wineries in Bolzano and the wine-growing villages of Terlano, Andriano, and Nalles open their cellars from 5 PM to midnight, offering guided tastings, cellar tours, local culinary specialties, and live music, with a dedicated shuttle service to travel freely between estates.

A night among the wineries of Bolzano

Winery Night, known in German as Kellernacht, is one of the most anticipated food and wine events in South Tyrol. Organized by the South Tyrol Wine Road Association, the festival transforms the historic cellars of the provincial capital and surrounding wine villages into a widespread itinerary of tastings, encounters, and wine culture for one evening. The event takes place in the northern section of the Wine Road, featuring the wine city of Bolzano, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige.

How it works

From 5 PM until midnight, cooperative wineries, private estates, and wine producers open the doors to their cellars, where wines typically rest and mature. Each estate manages its own program: tastings of selected labels, guided cellar tours, pairings with local gastronomic specialties, and live musical entertainment. Visitors create their own flexible itinerary, moving from one winery to another according to their preferences.

The wineries of Bolzano and surroundings

In the northern area, numerous local producers participate, including Cantina Bolzano, Tenuta Griesbauerhof, Tenuta Waldgries, Tenuta Mayr-Unterganzner, Tenuta Thurnhof, and Tenuta Eberlehof, alongside estates in the wine villages of Terlano, Andriano, and Nalles. Each winery showcases its own terroir and typical South Tyrolean grape varieties, from whites like Gewürztraminer, Pinot Bianco, and Sauvignon to indigenous reds like Schiava (Vernatsch) and Lagrein, the oenological symbol of Bolzano.

The shuttle service

To enjoy the evening in total relaxation, a dedicated shuttle service connects the various locations involved—Bolzano, Terlano, Nalles, and the districts of Rencio, Cardano, and Aslago—allowing you to reach participating wineries worry-free and taste with maximum safety. It is an ideal way to discover the region's viticultural richness in a single evening.

A staple of the South Tyrolean calendar

Established in 2008, Winery Night is now a consolidated tradition of the South Tyrol Wine Road, attracting wine lovers and curious visitors from across the region and beyond every year. The event combines oenological culture, conviviality, and the promotion of the South Tyrolean wine landscape in a suggestive evening atmosphere within the walls of historic cellars.

Winery Night — edition 2026

The 18th edition of Winery Night took place on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5 PM to midnight, in the northern part of the South Tyrol Wine Road. The wine city of Bolzano was the star, with its historic cellars, alongside the wine villages of Terlano, Andriano, and Nalles.
