The monthly flea market in the heart of the South Tyrolean Wine Road
The 'Kunis' Flea Market, known locally as 'Kunis' Flohmarkt, is a staple of the event calendar in Terlano (Terlan), a town in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano in Trentino-Alto Adige, nestled along the famous South Tyrolean Wine Road. Every month, the market transforms the Casa della Mela (Haus des Apfels) parking lot on Via Jakobi into a lively meeting point for antique lovers, collectors, and bargain hunters.
As the official description puts it, the stalls are filled with "old and antique items, used and barely used, useless and amusing." The market blends the spirit of the Central European Flohmarkt with South Tyrolean hospitality: vintage furniture, books, records, ceramics, clothing, toys, and all sorts of curiosities are mixed together, offering a fresh selection at every edition. It is an ideal excuse for an outdoor stroll, rediscovering the joy of reuse, and bringing home a piece with a unique story.
The recurring format—one Sunday a month, from late winter to early December—makes the market a small ritual for local residents and visitors traveling the Wine Road between Bolzano and Merano. The event is organized by the Holzner-Pratzer family, with Mrs. Kuni serving as the main contact for exhibitors, who register via WhatsApp. The atmosphere remains genuine and informal, typical of village markets in South Tyrol.
Admission for the public is free: simply show up during opening hours to browse the stalls. The market takes place outdoors, and hours may be reduced in case of rain. Thanks to its convenient location and the charming setting of Terlano, the 'Kunis' Flohmarkt is a pleasant stop to combine with a visit to the local vineyards and wineries, famous for their South Tyrolean white wines.
