Wild Boar and Mugello Tortello Festival

A festival in the heart of the Mugello

The Wild Boar and Mugello Tortello Festival is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the late winter season in Scarperia e San Piero, a municipality in the Metropolitan City of Florence nestled in the hills of the Mugello, in Tuscany. Organized by ASD Fortis Juventus, the town's historic sports club, the festival brings the Le Cortine Sports Field on Viale Giacomo Matteotti to life for three weekends, transforming it into a great meeting point for families, groups of friends, and lovers of local cuisine.

Traditional Mugello dishes

The absolute stars of the table are wild boar and Mugello tortelli, two symbols of Florentine Apennine gastronomy. The stand offers a rich and generous menu for both lunch and dinner, including:

• Homemade Mugello tortelli, also available with wild boar sauce
• Fried wild boar and wild boar peposo
• Pappardelle and polenta with wild boar
• Grilled meats: steak, sausages, pork ribs, and skewers
• The essential rice fritters, a typical sweet treat of this season

A welcoming environment, even in bad weather

The festival takes place in a covered and heated venue, ensuring service even on the cold or rainy days typical of late winter in the Mugello. Service is available for lunch from 11:30 am and for dinner from 6:30 pm throughout the scheduled days. Reservations are not required, except for large groups.

Scarperia, a village of traditions

The event is also an excellent opportunity to discover Scarperia, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, famous for its ancient knife-making art and the Palazzo dei Vicari. During the festival days, the historic center often hosts other events, such as collector's markets, making the visit even more complete with a mix of taste, culture, and village atmosphere.
