Pineto's seafront transforms into a massive open-air gym for one night
The White Night of Sport and Paralympic Sport is one of the most anticipated summer events in Pineto, a seaside town in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. For one full evening, the seafront and town center turn into a giant open-air gym, where dozens of local sports associations offer demonstrations, exhibitions, tournaments, and open trials for everyone, from sunset until the first light of dawn.
The event is promoted by the Municipality of Pineto in collaboration with the Department of Sport, UISP Teramo, and the Pineto Merchants and Artisans Association, involving numerous local groups. Since its inception, the event has placed inclusion at its heart: Paralympic sport is not just a side feature but an integral part of the program, with joint exhibitions between able-bodied and Paralympic athletes, supported by the Italian Paralympic Committee and CONI Abruzzo.
The format divides the city into themed areas, each identified by a color and dedicated to specific disciplines:
These are complemented by a kids' area, spaces dedicated to Paralympic sport, music spots, and refreshment points with street food and local specialties.
The evening is marked by an official ceremony on the main stage, featuring greetings from authorities and the celebration of the Blue Flag, an award Pineto has received for many consecutive years, testifying to the quality of its sea and coastline. Between demonstrations, live music, DJ sets, and entertainment alternate in a festive atmosphere that engages families, athletes, and curious visitors alike.
Those who stay until dawn can experience the most evocative moment of the White Night: yoga, pilates, and SUP sessions by the sea, and the traditional appointment with music at the Club Morning at Lido La Cambusa. It is an original way to discover Pineto and the Teramo coast, where sport becomes an opportunity for social interaction, wellness, and promoting the Abruzzo region.
The 2026 White Night of Sport in Pineto, scheduled for Saturday, July 11, features a completely renewed look. The city is divided into five themed areas identified by a color: pink (dance, gymnastics, and skating at Parco della Pace), green (yoga, pilates, and relaxation in the central zone), yellow (martial arts and fitness between Via della Robbia and Hotel La Pineta), red (ballroom dancing, Latin-American dances, and DJ sets in the center), and blue (soccer, basketball, and beach volleyball toward the sea). There will also be a kids' area, spaces for Paralympic sport, music, and street food refreshment points.
From 9 PM, the official ceremony on the main stage kicks off the evening, celebrating the Blue Flag won by Pineto for the twenty-third consecutive year. The party continues until late at night with exhibitions, tournaments, and DJ sets, concluding at dawn with the Club Morning at Lido La Cambusa.
The event takes place along the seafront and in the town center of Pineto (province of Teramo, Abruzzo), with multiple themed areas distributed between Parco della Pace, the center, and the beach area.
By car via the A14 motorway, Pineto-Atri exit. By train, the Pineto station is located on the Bologna-Bari-Lecce Adriatic line, just a short walk from the seafront. The nearest airport is Pescara-Abruzzo.
Participation is free. Due to the high turnout, it is recommended to arrive early and use peripheral parking, then walk between the different areas. Comfortable clothing is recommended for those wishing to try the sports activities.
