Pescara's Christmas village featuring wooden huts, festive lights, and entertainment along the Adriatic coast
Pescara d'Incanto is the grand Christmas event program that brings the center of Pescara, the capital of the province of the same name in Abruzzo, to life every year. Promoted by the Municipality of Pescara, the festival transforms the city's squares and streets into a trail of lights, music, and tradition that accompanies residents and visitors from Advent through to Epiphany.
The beating heart of the event is the Christmas Market set up in Piazza del Sacro Cuore, featuring charming wooden huts decorated in a traditional style. Up to twenty-five stalls offer handicrafts, Christmas decorations, gift ideas, and food and wine specialties from the Abruzzo region. There is no shortage of themed scenery, such as the enchanted forest with illuminated deer, Santa's throne with storytelling elves, and the historic mailbox for posting letters.
Just a few steps from the market, in Piazza della Rinascita (the famous Piazza Salotto), an ice skating rink is installed, serving as a meeting point for all ages. The program dedicates plenty of space to families: creative workshops for children curated by the Museum of the People of Abruzzo and the Aternino Library Center, animated readings, theatrical performances, nativity scenes, and the traditional Grand Christmas Parade that winds through the city center.
Beyond the market, Pescara d'Incanto offers dozens of appointments: concerts, choirs, bagpipers, exhibitions, and book presentations distributed across the squares, the Flaiano Auditorium, and city cultural spaces. The most anticipated moment is the New Year's Eve in the square, with major free outdoor concerts that attract a vast audience from across the region, leading up to the grand finale on Epiphany with the Befana arriving from the sea at the Tourist Port.
Thanks to its location along the Adriatic coast, Pescara offers a unique Christmas atmosphere, combining the vibrancy of a seaside city with the warmth of Abruzzese folk traditions. Pescara d'Incanto is now one of the most popular winter events in the entire province, enlivening the center for over a month with a program designed for all ages.
The Christmas Market of Pescara d'Incanto is confirmed for the 2026/2027 season in Piazza del Sacro Cuore, from November 27, 2026, to January 10, 2027. The dates are derived from the three-year tender by the Municipality of Pescara that governs the organization of the market for the 2025/2026, 2026/2027, and 2027/2028 seasons. The market will remain open every day, including holidays, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM, with a number of wooden huts ranging between 15 and 25.
The detailed program of side events (concerts, workshops, shows, and New Year's Eve appointments) for the 2026/2027 edition has not yet been announced; it will be published by the Municipality in the months leading up to the event.
The Christmas Market is held in Piazza del Sacro Cuore, in the center of Pescara. The ice rink and main activities take place between Piazza della Rinascita and the surrounding streets.
By train: Pescara Centrale Station is a short walk from the central squares. By car: take the Pescara Ovest/Chieti or Pescara Nord/Città Sant'Angelo exits (A14/A25). By plane: Abruzzo Airport in Pescara, connected to the center by urban buses.
The market is open daily, including holidays, from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM. Access to the market and most events in the square is free; the ice skating rink requires a separate ticket.
