The widespread festival of sustainability in the Teramo hills
Tortoreto Greendays is the summer event that tells the story of the agricultural and sustainable soul of Tortoreto, a town on the Teramo coast in Abruzzo, every year. Promoted by the Municipality of Tortoreto and the Department of Agriculture, the festival leaves the beach to head up towards the Teramo hills and the medieval village of Tortoreto Alto: a widespread festival that winds through the entire summer, from farm to farm, from olive grove to vineyard, with a slow rhythm made of listening and participation.
Not a single big event, but a mosaic of appointments distributed throughout the season, each designed to let you experience the territory as a protagonist rather than a mere spectator. This is the formula that has made Greendays a recognized model of integrated rural tourism in the province of Teramo.
The 2026 program offers twenty-one experiences scheduled from June 10th to September 11th. The common thread is always the same: rediscovering contact with nature and those who work it. Among the recurring appointments you will find:
The experiences take place at local farms – including Olio Monaco, La Pinciaia di Cavatassi, Tenuta Terraviva, and the Terra di Ea farmhouse – which open their doors to share the story of extra virgin olive oil, wine, and typical products of the Teramo hills.
The 2026 edition introduces two major novelties. The first is Steps in the Village, four immersive walks designed to experience the historic center of Tortoreto Alto amidst alleys, views, and the town's memory. The second is Cerasum – Tortoreto Cerasuolo Festival (from July 4th to 6th), the major event dedicated to Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo, the region's most iconic rosé wine, featuring the "Oscar del Cerasuolo" contest and dozens of participating wineries in the village.
Greendays is the concrete expression of a path that has led Tortoreto to be awarded the FEE Green Flag (Spighe Verdi) for eight consecutive years, a recognition that rewards virtuous rural municipalities. Sustainability here is not a slogan but a direction of administration and growth based on the care of the rural landscape and collaboration between the public and private sectors. An opportunity to discover another side of the Abruzzo coast, slower and more authentic.
The sixth edition of Tortoreto Greendays takes place from June 10th to September 11th, 2026, with twenty-one experiences spread across the Teramo hills. The Municipality of Tortoreto confirms the slow and participatory festival formula, enriching it with two novelties: Passi nel Borgo, four immersive walks in the historic center, and Cerasum – Tortoreto Cerasuolo Festival, dedicated to the iconic Abruzzo wine.
The calendar alternates sunset tastings, concerts among the olive trees, workshops, and wellness moments, involving local farms. The edition also celebrates the eighth consecutive Green Flag (Spighe Verdi) obtained by the city.
Participating farms include Olio Monaco, La Pinciaia di Cavatassi, Tenuta Terraviva, and the Terra di Ea farmhouse, in collaboration with the Tortoreto Hoteliers Association.
From June 10th to September 11th, 2026, with twenty-one appointments spread throughout the summer.
