The festival for inclusion and community welfare in Monte Sant'Angelo
The welFAREdiCOMUNITÀ – Inclusion Festival is one of the most defining events of Monte Sant'Angelo, located in the heart of the Gargano, in the province of Foggia (Puglia). Promoted by the Municipality of Monte Sant'Angelo through the Department of Welfare, the festival was born in 2024, the year the city was the Capital of Culture for Puglia, and has grown year after year into much more than just a calendar of events.
In just a few editions, welFAREdiCOMUNITÀ has transformed into a true community project: a permanent laboratory that unites social policies, culture, education, sports, health, legality, participation, and local networks, with the goal of building a city that is more attentive, accessible, and capable of taking care of everyone.
Every edition revolves around the key pillars of inclusion: rights, accessibility, participation, and nurturing bonds. These themes shape a program that addresses disability, mental health, women's empowerment, inclusive sports, legality, and local welfare, involving schools, associations, social cooperatives, parishes, and citizens.
The festival is organized by the Municipality of Monte Sant'Angelo together with the Social Territorial District, which brings together Manfredonia, Monte Sant'Angelo, Mattinata, and Zapponeta, in collaboration with the University of Foggia, local schools, social cooperatives, and numerous civic associations. This stable network between institutions, schools, and associations is what gives the event its strength and continuity.
welFAREdiCOMUNITÀ is designed for everyone: families, children, young people, the elderly, people with disabilities, and anyone who wants to discover a city that makes inclusion a daily choice. Events take place in iconic locations throughout the center, from the Municipal Villa to the "Ciro Angelillis" Municipal Library, as well as the Tancredi Ethnographic Museum and the town squares—part of a UNESCO World Heritage site thanks to the Sanctuary of San Michele Arcangelo. Participating means not only attending shows and workshops but becoming part of a process that truly involves the entire community of Monte Sant'Angelo.
The third edition of the welFAREdiCOMUNITÀ Inclusion Festival was held in Monte Sant'Angelo from May 20 to 23, 2026, strengthening the network between local institutions, schools, and associations. Four days of events spread across the Municipal Villa, the "Ciro Angelillis" Municipal Library, the Tancredi Ethnographic Museum, and the town squares, all with free admission.
The festival is promoted by the Municipality of Monte Sant'Angelo – Department of Welfare, in collaboration with the Social Territorial District of Manfredonia, Monte Sant'Angelo, Mattinata, and Zapponeta, local schools, and numerous civic associations.
Festival events take place at various venues in the center of Monte Sant'Angelo (FG): the Municipal Villa, the "Ciro Angelillis" Municipal Library, the Tancredi Ethnographic Museum, and various town squares and educational facilities.
