An evening of sport, movement, and community in the heart of San Severo
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The White Night of Sport for All is the grand city-wide sports festival of San Severo, located in the Alto Tavoliere area of the Foggia province, in the heart of Puglia. For one full evening, the historic center transforms into a sprawling network of makeshift courts, platforms, and stages: the city's main squares and streets become spaces to try out, watch, and cheer for dozens of sporting disciplines. The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of San Severo through the Department of Sport for All, with the patronage of the C.O.N.I.
The format is that of a 'white night': there is no single venue, but rather an entire city that lights up. Demonstrations and performances are spread across Piazza Municipio, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Allegato, Corso Garibaldi, Via Tiberio Solis, Largo Carmine, Piazza Aldo Moro, Piazza Incoronazione, and Viale Matteotti. Strolling from one square to another, visitors can enjoy a variety of performances, while roving musicians and street artists accompany the public along the entire route.
The true heart of the event lies in the local amateur sports associations: nearly fifty local organizations showcase their work with demonstrations open to everyone. Disciplines include martial arts, cheerleading, soccer, volleyball, fencing, capoeira, and many others, alongside performances by the city's dance schools. It is a great opportunity to get to know local sports clubs, learn how to join, and perhaps discover a new passion.
The White Night of Sport for All focuses on the social value of movement: the event is designed as a moment of gathering and inclusion, with special attention given to the participation of differently-abled youth, who are key protagonists, and health awareness initiatives carried out in collaboration with local medical facilities. The message is clear: sport is for everyone, at every age and every level.
Admission and participation are free: simply head to the center of San Severo and let yourself be guided by the lights, music, and energy of the squares. It is the perfect evening for families, young people, and anyone looking to experience the city in a new way, rediscovering urban space as a place of social interaction, celebration, and community.
At the moment, no official date has been published for the 2026 edition of the White Night of Sport for All in San Severo. Based on the previous edition, the event is traditionally held in October, enlivening the squares of the historic center with sports demonstrations, dance, roving music, and street performers. The detailed program and the list of participating associations will be released by the Municipality of San Severo and the Department of Sport in the weeks leading up to the event.
