About Walkers' Festival

The Walkers' Festival is the annual gathering of Canavese Walking Groups, held in Caselle Torinese, in the province of Turin. It is a day dedicated to physical activity, health, and discovering the local area. The event features an 8 km walk open to everyone, including families, followed by afternoon cultural visits and street food at Prato Fiera. This free event is promoted by the ASL TO4 health authority and the local municipality to combat sedentary lifestyles and showcase the city's iconic landmarks.

A day on the move in Caselle Torinese

The Walkers' Festival is the spring event that brings together Canavese Walking Groups and surrounding districts in Caselle Torinese, in the heart of the Province of Turin, Piedmont. It is much more than a simple stroll: it is a popular celebration dedicated to movement, health, and rediscovering the territory, attracting around two hundred participants from towns such as Ciriรจ, Villanova, Crescentino, Salassa, and across the Eporediese and Chivassese areas.

The eight-kilometre walk

The heart of the day is an 8 km walk, accessible to everyone and suitable for families. Led by walking leaders, the groups traverse some of the most picturesque corners of the Caselle area, including the cycle path along the Stura stream and the historic Via delle Cartiere, a symbol of the city's manufacturing past. Support is provided throughout the route: the Pro Loco of Caselle Torinese welcomes walkers with refreshment points offering water and hot tea, while the Green Cross, Civil Protection, and Local Police ensure safety and order.

Culture, families, and street food

The festival continues well beyond the walk. In the afternoon, Caselle opens the doors to its iconic landmarks with special visits to the Textile Museum and the charming Church of the Battuti and Church of San Giovanni, offering a chance to learn about the history and heritage of the town. Workshops and a short walk in the Prato Fiera park are dedicated to children, while the finish line is brought to life by street food, ending the day in a convivial atmosphere.

Health and territory

Promoted by the ASL TO4 in collaboration with the municipal administration, the Walkers' Festival was created with a clear goal: to combat sedentary lifestyles and chronic diseases, particularly among the elderly population, by promoting an active lifestyle. It is an event that combines well-being, social connection, and a love for the local area, having become a highly anticipated date in the Caselle spring calendar over the years.
