The Italian festival dedicated to a cappella music, in the heart of Piedmont
Vocalmente is the Italian festival dedicated to a cappella music and stands as one of the most recognizable events focused on the voice in the national landscape. The event is held in Fossano, a medieval city in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of Piedmont and the so-called Granda. The festival was born from a passion for the Piedmontese choral tradition and opens up to contemporary international a cappella music, placing the voice at the center as one of the most immediate, powerful, and personal forms of musical expression.
The 2026 edition takes place on July 24 and 25, with evening concerts scheduled at 9:00 PM at the Auditorium Calvino-Paglieri in Fossano. Italian and international vocal groups will take the stage: the announced headliners include VoXes, a vocal ensemble from Fossano that performs arrangements ranging from four to eight voices across jazz, pop, and world music, alongside Fool Moon and Oblivion, the latter known for their entirely a cappella shows and mash-ups that trace the history of music with the sole power of their voices.
Vocalmente is not just a concert series: the festival offers group lessons, talks, and meetings where artists share the secrets of their craft, as well as interviews and musical moments in symbolic locations around the city. This educational dimension is a direct consequence of the identity of the organizer, the Fondazione Fossano Musica, a music education institute directed by Gianpiero Brignone, which is active both nationally and internationally and deeply committed to the local area between Fossano, Bra, and Bene Vagienna.
Attending Vocalmente is also an opportunity to discover Fossano and the Cuneo area, with its medieval architecture in the historic center, the great wines of Piedmont, and local gastronomic traditions. The festival is produced by the Fondazione Fossano Musica in collaboration with the Municipality of Fossano and the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Fossano.
The 2026 edition of the Italian a cappella music festival takes place in Fossano on July 24 and 25, at the Auditorium Calvino-Paglieri, with concerts starting at 9:00 PM. The lineup brings together prominent vocal ensembles: the Fossano group VoXes, Fool Moon, and Oblivion, in a journey that ranges from pop to jazz and experimental arrangements built entirely with voices.
Alongside the concerts, Vocalmente traditionally offers educational moments, artist meet-and-greets, and events in symbolic city locations, confirming the dual nature of performance and musical laboratory promoted by the Fondazione Fossano Musica.
Among the groups announced for the 2026 edition: VoXes (vocal ensemble from Fossano), Fool Moon, and Oblivion. The full details of the evenings and side events are published on the official website.
