About Celtic Harp Festival

The International Celtic Harp Festival is the premier Piedmontese event dedicated to the Celtic harp and the traditional music of Ireland and Scotland. Promoted by the Celtic Harp International Academy, it runs from May to November across Peveragno, in the Cuneo area, and Cumiana, near Turin, featuring widespread concerts, workshops, and masterclasses led by world-renowned harpists. This ever-growing event brings the very best of the European Celtic scene to the province of Cuneo.

The International Celtic Harp Festival

The International Celtic Harp Festival is one of the most unique events in the Piedmontese musical landscape: a long journey that, from May to November, weaves together concerts, workshops, and study sessions centered on an instrument of ancient charm, the Celtic harp. The festival is promoted by the Celtic Harp International Academy and involves two municipalities: Peveragno, in the province of Cuneo, and Cumiana, in the Turin area, united by a shared passion for Irish and Scottish traditional music.

A widespread festival in the heart of Piedmont

Reaching its eighth edition in 2026, the event is in constant growth and has become a reference point for harpists, enthusiasts, and curious visitors from all over Italy. The festival is not concentrated in a single weekend but is spread over several months with a series of concerts, accompanied by a Celtic harp workshop featuring a concert by an internationally acclaimed Scottish artist, as well as a laboratory curated by the Celtic Study Center. In Peveragno, the official presentation is held at the "A la Sousta" multipurpose center, the organizational hub of the event alongside the Municipality's Culture Office.

The Cumiana Summer Week

The most intensive moment from an educational perspective is the Summer Week in Cumiana, a week of summer workshops that attracts students from all over Europe. Under the guidance of Italian and international teachers, participants can take Celtic harp courses divided by level (beginner, intermediate, and advanced) and workshops dedicated to the bodhrán, tin whistle, folk guitar, and Irish fiddle, as well as meetings on mythology and Celtic tales. It is a true immersion into Gaelic culture, where instrumental practice meets the discovery of the traditional repertoire.

Why it's worth it

Between Peveragno and Cumiana, the International Celtic Harp Festival offers a rare opportunity to hear the great names of the European Celtic harp live and to get closer to a fascinating musical tradition. It is an event that enhances the territory of the province of Cuneo and Piedmont, transforming it for a few months into a crossroads of sounds, education, and international encounters.
