A gourmet food and wine trail through the ancient chestnut grove of Carisolo
Un bosco di delizie is the gourmet event that transforms the ancient chestnut grove of Carisolo—a small town in the Val Rendena, in the province of Trento, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region—into an open-air culinary trail every summer. Organized by the Pro Loco Carisolo, the event offers a multi-stage route through centuries-old chestnut trees, where visitors savor local products paired with Trentino wines, guided by sommeliers from A.I.S. Trentino (Italian Sommelier Association).
The chestnut grove is located just outside the village of Carisolo. Thanks to its centuries-old trees, it allows visitors to breathe in an atmosphere steeped in history and nature. It is a place that evokes the valley's past and local traditions, when the chestnut tree was a precious resource for the mountain economy. Along the trail, gastronomic stops follow one another among the trees: each stop features a local dish expertly paired with a selected Trentino wine.
The added value of the event is the presence of sommeliers from A.I.S. Trentino, who accompany participants through the tasting experience, explaining the characteristics of each wine and the logic behind the pairings with the proposed dishes. Each edition features a refreshed menu designed to highlight the typical flavors of Trentino in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere.
The trail is enriched by a cultural dimension thanks to the nearby church of Santo Stefano, an artistic jewel known for the famous frescoes by Simone II Baschenis, including the extraordinary Danse Macabre and the stories of Saint Stephen. Inside, the Vetrocenacolo work by Murano artist Silvano Signoretto is also on display. The church, open to the public during the event, is the ideal conclusion to a day that combines gastronomy, nature, and heritage.
Un bosco di delizie is the perfect opportunity to discover the authentic soul of Carisolo, combining the pleasures of the table with the beauty of the landscapes and the artistic heritage of Val Rendena.
The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday, August 2, 2026, in the chestnut grove of Carisolo, in Val Rendena. The gourmet trail starts at 11:45 AM and guides participants through the centuries-old chestnut trees with a series of tastings of local products paired with Trentino wines, presented by sommeliers from A.I.S. Trentino.
