The Italian stage of the Mountain Bike World Cup on the trails of Daolasa
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Every summer, the Daolasa Bike Park, in the municipality of Commezzadura, hosts a stage of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series. Nestled at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites and the Ortles-Cevedale group, Val di Sole is recognized as Italy's only UCI Bike Region and has been a staple of the top international circuit for over a decade, serving as a benchmark for off-road cycling enthusiasts in Trentino-Alto Adige.
The program brings together the main specialties of competitive mountain biking in a single weekend: Downhill, held on the feared Black Snake track—considered one of the most spectacular and technical descents in the world with its roots, jumps, and forest sections; Olympic Cross Country (XCO) and Short Track (XCC), both fast and adrenaline-fueled; and the Four Cross (4X Pro Tour) events. The world's best athletes compete on the Daolasa trails, in a crescendo of emotions that keeps viewers worldwide glued to their screens thanks to live television coverage.
Val di Sole boasts a unique curriculum in off-road cycling: the Daolasa bike park has been welcoming top-tier MTB since the 2008 Downhill World Championships, while Cross Country arrived in 2013, making the Trentino location an unmissable date on the World Cup calendar. It is no coincidence that Daolasa has been chosen multiple times as a venue for the World Championships (2008, 2016, 2021, and again in 2026), confirming its technical and organizational value recognized internationally.
Thousands of fans reach Daolasa to experience what has become a true collective ritual in Val di Sole: the grandstands fill up in the morning before the crowd disperses into the woods to follow the champions' feats up close. Access to the bike park, refreshment areas, fan zones, and the alpine setting make this stage much more than just a competition: it is a major sporting event and festival, capable of drawing enthusiasts from all over Europe to Trentino.
The event is held in Daolasa di Commezzadura, in Val di Sole, Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), reachable by cable car from the valley floor. The dates vary from year to year following the official UCI calendar, generally taking place in June.
At the moment, there are no official dates for a UCI MTB World Cup stage in Daolasa di Commezzadura in 2026. The 2026 international calendar of the WHOOP UCI Mountain Bike World Series assigns the Italian stages to Val di Fassa and La Thuile, while Val di Sole takes center stage with the World Championships scheduled for the end of August. Information regarding a potential World Cup edition in Daolasa will be updated as soon as communicated by the organizers.
Daolasa di Commezzadura is located in Val di Sole, in the Autonomous Province of Trento. By car, it is reached via the A22 Brenner motorway (exit San Michele all'Adige/Mezzocorona), continuing through the Val di Non and Val di Sole. By train, the Trento-Malè-Marilleva line serves the valley with a stop at Daolasa. The bike park is served by the Daolasa-Val Mastellina cable car.
Daily and weekend tickets can be purchased online on the official platform; reduced entry is generally available for residents of Trentino-Alto Adige, and there are days with free access (historically the Friday of Short Track and Four Cross). Access to race areas and grandstands varies according to the edition's program.
We recommend comfortable clothing and hiking shoes to reach the panoramic viewpoints along the Black Snake in the woods. In high season, it is advisable to book accommodation in advance in the towns of Val di Sole (Commezzadura, Mezzana, Malè).
