The historic non-competitive fun run in Commezzadura, a stage of the Val di Sole Running Circuit
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The 5 Campanili is one of the most well-established running events in Val di Sole, located in the heart of Trentino-Alto Adige. It is a non-competitive fun run of approximately 5 kilometers that winds through the hamlets of the Municipality of Commezzadura (Province of Trento), starting and finishing in the village of Mestriago, in Piazza Municipio. The name refers to the five bell towers of the local hamlets, which the route ideally touches as it passes through meadows, village streets, and scenic spots overlooking the Brenta Dolomites and the valley's peaks.
Organized by the Pro Loco Commezzadura, the 5 Campanili has been a recurring event for over fifty years: the summer of 2025 marked its 52nd edition, a testament to a continuity rarely seen in local village events. Its non-competitive format makes it accessible to everyone—amateur runners, walkers, families, and tourists vacationing in the valley—while still maintaining the charm of a leaderboard for those who wish to test themselves against the clock.
The 5 Campanili is part of the Val di Sole Running Circuit, a summer calendar of road races that visits various towns in the valley between late June and the second half of August. The circuit includes stages in Peio, Ossana, Pellizzano, Rabbi, Caldes, Malè, Dimaro, Vermiglio, Commezzadura, and Cogolo, enlivening summer mornings and evenings with hundreds of participants. The Commezzadura race is traditionally one of the final events of the calendar and takes place in the morning, with a start time around 9:30 AM.
Before the main race, a mini-run is held for the little ones: a 250-meter fun run without rankings, featuring free registration and a final prize for all mini-athletes. It is the event's way of introducing children to sports and involving families. At the end of the races, there is a convivial gathering with refreshments and an awards ceremony, making the 5 Campanili a true community celebration.
Situated along the Noce stream, Commezzadura is a small municipality in Val di Sole, also known for the Daolasa-Marilleva ski resort. In summer, the area offers trails, bike paths, and a busy calendar of events: the 5 Campanili represents one of the most cherished moments of the local summer, successfully blending sport, popular tradition, and hospitality in the suggestive setting of the Trentino mountains.
As of now, the 2026 calendar for the Val di Sole Running Circuit has not yet been made public: dates and the program for the 2026 edition of the 5 Campanili have not yet been announced. Based on tradition, the Commezzadura race usually takes place in mid-August, with a morning start from Piazza Municipio in Mestriago. We expect the usual format to be confirmed—a non-competitive 5 km fun run plus a free mini-run for children—as soon as the Pro Loco Commezzadura and the circuit organizers release the official calendar.
