Euregio classical music arrives at Palazzo Torraccia, in Val di Sole
The Alpen Classica Festival is the first Euroregional classical music festival, established in 2016 with the aim of bringing great music not only to cities but also to Alpine valleys. The event embraces the three souls of the Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino Euregio, winding through Val di Sole in Trentino, the Isarco Valley in South Tyrol, and the Inn Valley in the Austrian Tyrol. The artistic direction is entrusted to Massimiliano Girardi, Damiano Grandesso, and Lorenzo Largaiolli.
Among the numerous venues that the touring festival visits every summer is Terzolas, an enchanting village in the municipality of the same name in Val di Sole, in the province of Trento. The concert is held in the historic setting of Palazzo Torraccia, inside the Sala Maria Teresa d'Austria: an intimate and charming environment, ideal for listening to chamber music. Terzolas has a long-standing bond with the festival, having also hosted Saxfest masterclasses in the past at the former Capuchin convent.
One of the distinctive features of the Alpen Classica Festival is that it is free: all concerts have free admission, with reservations often recommended. The program alternates saxophone quartets, brass ensembles, trios, and orchestras, giving space to both established performers and young talents attending the festival's orchestral academy and masterclasses. The formula thus combines outreach, high-level musical training, and promotion of the territory.
Terzolas is one of the most characteristic villages in Val di Sole, an Alpine valley in Trentino known for the landscapes of the Stelvio National Park and the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park. Attending an Alpen Classica Festival concert thus becomes an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Alps, amidst historic architecture, tradition, and pristine nature.
With its stages distributed across three regions and two countries, the Alpen Classica Festival represents a true cultural and linguistic bridge in the heart of the Euregio. Each edition confirms the festival's vocation to overcome borders and foster dialogue between Alpine communities through the universal language of music.
The eleventh edition of the Alpen Classica Festival stops in Terzolas, in Val di Sole, on July 25, 2026. The star of the evening is the Milano Sax Quartet, in concert at 9:00 PM in the evocative Sala Maria Teresa d'Austria of Palazzo Torraccia.
As per the festival's tradition, admission is free. The Terzolas concert is one of the many dates of the festival, which in the summer and autumn of 2026 visits locations such as Malé, Monclassico, Cogolo di Pejo, Ossana, Croviana, and Dimaro in Trentino, as well as various venues in South Tyrol and Tyrol.
