Kolzer Trophy – Italian Youth Cup for Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined

The Kolzer Trophy in Pellizzano

The Kolzer Trophy is the most anticipated summer event for ski jumping and Nordic combined at the Pellizzano Ski Jumping Center, in the heart of Val di Sole, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Monte Giner A.S.D., the competition is a stage of the national Italian Youth Cup circuit and draws the most promising young Italian ski jumpers and Nordic combined athletes to Pellizzano, with clubs participating from across the entire Alpine region.

How the competition works

The events take place on the summer jumps at the Pellizzano sports center, specifically the HS20 and HS38 hills, which are covered in plastic material to allow for competition during the warmer season. The program includes both special jumping and summer Nordic combined events, where young athletes first tackle the ski jump followed by a cross-country running race, with distances tailored to the different age groups.

Competition categories

The Kolzer Trophy is dedicated to youth sectors and includes the following categories:

• Under 10, boys and girls
• Under 12, boys and girls
• Under 14, boys and girls

The competition features young athletes from the jumping centers of Predazzo, Tarvisio, Moena, Val Gardena, Monte Lussari, and naturally, Monte Giner, in a day of challenges that highlights the talent pool of a discipline deeply rooted in the Trentino and Friuli Alps.

A growing jumping center

The event is part of the Ski Jumping Festival, a project through which G.S. Monte Giner promotes and enhances the Pellizzano facility, one of the few active ski jumping centers in Trentino. The trophy is named after the sponsor Kolzer, a long-time supporter of the sports group's activities, and has become a classic in the Italian summer ski jumping calendar, alongside the Danilo Bontempelli Memorial held at the beginning of July on the same jumps.
