The youth cycling race for the 'Giovanissimi' category on the Via 25 Aprile circuit in Aldeno
The Trofeo Daniele Baldo – Gran Premio Dao Conad is one of the most anticipated events on the Trentino youth cycling calendar. The race takes place in Aldeno, a town in the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento, transforming the local streets into a genuine race circuit for the afternoon. The event is reserved for the Giovanissimi category—young cyclists aged 7 to 12, divided into G1 to G6 classes—who are taking their first steps into competitive racing here.
The track consists of a 1,600-meter urban loop, with the start and finish line located on Via 25 Aprile. Each category completes a number of laps that increases with age: from a single lap for the youngest (G1) up to nine laps for the G6 group. It is a course designed to be both safe and exciting, where young athletes can compete in a festive atmosphere, watched by families and fans lining the barriers throughout the town.
Behind the event is the Club Ciclistico Forti e Veloci, one of the longest-running sports clubs in Trentino: in 2025, it celebrated its centenary and has now entered its 101st year. The association has nurtured athletes who have gone on to become professionals and continues to invest strongly in its youth academy, organizing numerous races for Giovanissimi, Esordienti, and Allievi categories every season.
The Trofeo Daniele Baldo is part of the 'Io Ci Provo – Casse Rurali Trentine' challenge, a multidisciplinary youth cycling circuit promoted by the Trento Committee of the Italian Cycling Federation (Federciclismo). The challenge brings together nine events, including road races, skill trials, and mountain bike competitions, with the goal of helping young riders grow by exposing them to different disciplines. The Aldeno stage is one of the road race events on the calendar and attracts all the Trentino teams and many from the Veneto region every year.
The race bears the name of Daniele Baldo and is accompanied by the Gran Premio Dao Conad title, linked to the commercial partnership that supports the event. It is an event that combines sport, memory, and community, confirming Aldeno as a key reference point for youth cycling in Trentino-Alto Adige.
The sixteenth edition confirmed the great appeal of the event in Aldeno: approximately 200 registered participants crowded the Via 25 Aprile circuit, with the presence of all Trentino clubs and many Veneto teams. The race served as one of the road stages of the 'Io Ci Provo – Casse Rurali Trentine' challenge, the multidisciplinary youth cycling circuit of Trentino.
The organization was handled by the Club Ciclistico Forti e Veloci, which celebrates its 101st year of activity in 2026.
