The Trofeo Città di Borgosesia is a non-competitive running event that every spring attracts runners, walkers, and families to the town of Borgosesia, the main hub of the lower Valsesia region in the province of Vercelli, Piedmont. Organized by the Atletica Valsesia association with the support of the local municipality, the event has become a staple of the local running calendar and is part of the prestigious regional Gamba d'Oro circuit.
Two routes for everyone
The event is designed to welcome athletes of all levels and anyone who enjoys outdoor activity. Two tracks are available:
- Long course of approximately 10 km, winding through the town center and the trails surrounding Borgosesia, with start and finish near the Conad supermarket parking lot on Via Risorgimento;
- Mini-run of approximately 2 km, suitable for children, teenagers, and those who prefer a more relaxed pace.
As this is a non-competitive run, there is no pressure from the clock: the goal is to participate, spend time together, and enjoy the Valsesian landscape.
The Gamba d'Oro circuit
The Trophy is one of the events in the Gamba d'Oro circuit, a series of non-competitive races held across the Piedmont region that rewards the consistency and participation of athletes throughout the season. Inclusion in this circuit gives the Borgosesia event a reach that extends beyond municipal borders, attracting runners from across the Vercelli and Valsesia areas.

Trofeo Città di Borgosesia — edition 2026
The 5th edition of the Trofeo Città di Borgosesia was held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, confirming the success of this non-competitive running event organized by Atletica Valsesia with the patronage of the Municipality of Borgosesia (VC). The event, approved by FIDAL Piedmont as a non-competitive race, was part of the regional Gamba d'Oro circuit.
Meeting and registration took place from 07:30 at the Conad supermarket parking lot on Via Risorgimento 5. The registration fee was 4.00 euros per person.

How to get there
Borgosesia can be reached by car via the A26 motorway (Romagnano-Ghemme or Gattinara exit) and by train on the Novara-Varallo line. The meeting point and registration are located at the Conad supermarket parking lot at Via Risorgimento 5.
Registration and schedule
Registration takes place on the morning of the event starting at 07:30 at the meeting point. The long course starts at 09:00, followed by the mini-run. The participation fee is a few euros per person.
