The art exhibition series at Palazzo Tornielli in Borgomanero
Arte a Palazzo is the longest-running and most deeply rooted exhibition series in Borgomanero, a town in the province of Novara in the heart of Piedmont, at the foot of the hills rising toward Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore. Promoted and coordinated by the Municipality of Borgomanero, the event transforms the Palazzo Tornielli exhibition hall into a dynamic gallery that changes its look week after week to host fresh, new exhibitions.
The series is hosted in the prestigious Palazzo Tornielli, a historic building in the center of Borgomanero that houses municipal cultural spaces. Its exhibition hall hosts rotating solo and group shows by selected artists, in a tight succession that allows visitors to find a new proposal to discover at almost any time of the year.
The strength of Arte a Palazzo lies in its variety and continuity: the series runs from May until just before Christmas, with dozens of exhibitions following one another throughout the season. While painting remains the primary language, the exhibition path also reserves space for sculpture and more unique techniques like pyrography, offering the public a truly wide range of artistic expressions.
For Borgomanero and the entire Novara district, Arte a Palazzo represents a stable cultural reference point, capable of promoting local artists and offering citizens a constant opportunity to engage with art. The event contributes to keeping the historic town center alive and making Palazzo Tornielli an authentic exhibition hub for north-eastern Piedmont.
The nineteenth edition of Arte a Palazzo takes place in Borgomanero from May 7 to December 22, 2026, in the Palazzo Tornielli exhibition hall. The program, presented by the Councilor for Culture Francesco Valsesia, includes a calendar of 21 exhibitions with the participation of 23 artists.
On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the municipal administration has prioritized works inspired by the saint and Franciscan themes, providing a spiritual thread throughout the entire season.
The series opened with the exhibition Amoramorgo bijoux by Gloria Creola (May 7-14) and continues throughout the season with shows such as Pirografando (di tutto un po') by Piercarlo Mora. While painting remains the dominant language, the 2026 program also includes sculpture and pyrography.
Exhibitions are held on a weekly rotation at Palazzo Tornielli, with free admission. Approximate hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM; Tuesday and Friday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
