Small antiques and handicrafts in the heart of the Riva district in Biella
The Riva Antique and Artisan Market is one of the most beloved events in the Biella calendar. For nearly forty years, it has brought life to the charming Riva district in the town of Biella (Province of Biella, Piedmont), turning Piazza San Giovanni Bosco and the surrounding streets into a vast open-air market trail. The event is held only three times a year, on the last Sundays of March, June, and September: a rare frequency that makes it a highly anticipated occasion, where exhibitors bring carefully curated selections and sought-after pieces.
The market specializes in small antiques and bric-à-brac: vintage furniture and furnishings, used and out-of-print books, old photographs, prints, ceramics, retro design objects, and small collectibles. Alongside the antique and second-hand dealers, there are also artisans with handmade creations that complement the traditional vintage goods. Each edition features up to 160 exhibitors, hailing not only from the Biella area but from all over Piedmont, the Aosta Valley, and Lombardy.
Walking through the stalls of the Riva district is an experience that combines bargain hunting with the pleasure of discovering a historic corner of Biella. The stalls wind along the streets and squares of the district in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that appeals as much to the expert collector as it does to those simply looking for a curious object or a souvenir of the past.
The event is organized by the Ente Manifestazioni Biella Riva in collaboration with the Municipality of Biella. Admission is free and opening hours are from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For information and exhibitor registration, you can contact the organizers via email or through the official market website.
