The Terrasini City Sprint Triathlon is a competitive triathlon held in the town of Terrasini, overlooking the gulf west of Palermo, Sicily. The race takes place on the Lungomare Peppino Impastato, a stunning setting that blends crystal-clear waters with the town center, transforming it into a grand open-air sports arena for the morning.

Race format

The event follows the classic sprint distance, which, as the organizers note, "suits everyone":

• 750-meter swim in the waters off the seafront;
• 20-kilometer cycle on a fully traffic-free urban circuit, completed over multiple laps;
• 5-kilometer run along the promenade.

The short, intense course is suitable for both experienced athletes and those new to the sport, and the total closure of the race route allows for a spectacular event organization.

A young and growing event

The inaugural edition was held in 2023, attracting around 150 triathletes from various Sicilian clubs, including notable athletes and personalities. In the following years, the event has consolidated its status, adding a day dedicated to younger participants with the Duathlon Kids Youth, designed to introduce children and teenagers to triathlon in a safe and festive environment.

Sport, community, and territory

Organized by A.S.D. Life Triathlon Catania under the aegis of FITRI (Italian Triathlon Federation) and supported by the local municipal administration, the event is much more than just a race: it is an opportunity to showcase the Terrasini seafront, promote physical activity, and bring the town to life with the passage of athletes and the cheers of the public. The combination of the charm of the Palermo coast and the adrenaline of competition makes the Terrasini City Sprint Triathlon a must-attend event for endurance sports lovers across Sicily.
