The road race along the Manfredonia seafront, in the heart of the Gargano
The Tecnorete Re Manfredi Run has become one of the most anticipated events in the Apulian running calendar. Every late September, the streets and the seafront of Manfredonia, a city in the province of Foggia overlooking the Gulf of Gargano, fill with thousands of runners arriving from all over Apulia, the rest of Italy, and abroad. The race, organized by ASD Manfredonia Corre with the patronage of the Apulia Region and FIDAL certification, is named after Manfred of Sicily, the king who founded the city in the 13th century.
The competitive route is a flat, 10 km certified course, designed as a single loop along the Lungomare del Sole, with the start and finish near the Marina del Gargano tourist port. It is a course designed for speed: the lack of elevation gain and the sea breeze make it one of the most popular races for those looking to set a personal best. It is no coincidence that the race is part of the regional Corripuglia circuit, the Capitanata Grand Prix, and serves as the provincial championship for the distance.
Alongside the competitive race reserved for registered athletes, the day offers a 10 km non-competitive run and a 5 km Family Run, designed for families, children, and walkers: a way to experience the celebration of sport without a stopwatch, between the city center and the Adriatic breeze. It is this inclusive formula that has turned the Re Manfredi Run into a true popular event: in the last edition, nearly fifteen hundred participants crossed the finish line.
Beyond the race times, the Re Manfredi Run is a moment of community for Manfredonia and the entire Capitanata territory. The race promotes physical activity, enhances the city's waterfront, and brings athletes and their families to the city, with positive impacts on late-summer tourism. Refreshment points along the route, medical assistance, electronic timing, and a commemorative medal complete the organization.
The 9th Tecnorete Re Manfredi Run returns on Sunday, September 27, 2026, in Manfredonia, organized as always by ASD Manfredonia Corre. The 10 km competitive race is part of the regional Corripuglia circuit and the Capitanata Grand Prix, and counts as the provincial championship for the distance. The formula open to everyone is confirmed, with the 10 km non-competitive run and the 5 km Family Run along the Lungomare del Sole.
The course is a flat, certified 10 km single loop, with start and finish on the city seafront. The race is valid for the Corripuglia circuit, the Capitanata Grand Prix, and as a provincial championship.
