About Pink Walk

The Pink Walk (Camminata in Rosa) is Mattinata's signature solidarity event dedicated to women's cancer prevention. Every October, during awareness month, hundreds of participants gather for a scenic walk at the foot of the Belvedere di Monte Saraceno in the Gargano region, embarking on a symbolic journey for health, solidarity, and awareness. Promoted by UISP Foggia-Manfredonia in partnership with ANDOS, Komen Puglia, and Fondazione ANT, the event blends gentle exercise, nature, and social commitment in one of the most beautiful villages on the Gargano coast.

A walk of solidarity in the heart of the Gargano

The Pink Walk is an initiative that paints the village of Mattinata, in the province of Foggia, pink every autumn. It is not a competitive race, but a symbolic, inclusive walk open to people of all ages, dedicated to women's cancer prevention and raising awareness about women's health. It is the local community's way of supporting "Pink October," the international month for the fight against breast cancer.

Where we walk: the Belvedere of Monte Saraceno

The gathering and start take place near the Belvedere of Monte Saraceno, a site of immense scenic and archaeological value that overlooks the Gargano coast and sea. The route is short and accessible to everyone, winding through natural vistas of rare beauty: an itinerary designed not for athletic performance, but for the pleasure of walking together in a setting that combines nature, history, and panoramic views of the Gargano coastline.

Organizers and purpose

The event is promoted by the UISP Foggia-Manfredonia Committee as part of the "Capitanata in Rosa" series, which brings prevention walks to various municipalities in the Foggia area. In Mattinata, the initiative is carried out in collaboration with ANDOS Foggia (National Association of Women Operated for Breast Cancer), Komen Puglia, and the Fondazione ANT, with the patronage of the Municipality of Mattinata and the Puglia Region. Every step becomes a concrete gesture of care for one's own health and that of others, with moments dedicated to information on early diagnosis.

An event for the whole community

  • Non-competitive walk open to women, men, families, and children
  • Distribution of the official pink t-shirt for the edition
