Mattinata's solidarity walk for women's cancer prevention
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Pink Walk is an initiative that paints the village of Mattinata, in the province of Foggia, pink every autumn. It is not a competitive race, but a symbolic, inclusive walk open to people of all ages, dedicated to women's cancer prevention and raising awareness about women's health. It is the local community's way of supporting "Pink October," the international month for the fight against breast cancer.
The gathering and start take place near the Belvedere of Monte Saraceno, a site of immense scenic and archaeological value that overlooks the Gargano coast and sea. The route is short and accessible to everyone, winding through natural vistas of rare beauty: an itinerary designed not for athletic performance, but for the pleasure of walking together in a setting that combines nature, history, and panoramic views of the Gargano coastline.
The event is promoted by the UISP Foggia-Manfredonia Committee as part of the "Capitanata in Rosa" series, which brings prevention walks to various municipalities in the Foggia area. In Mattinata, the initiative is carried out in collaboration with ANDOS Foggia (National Association of Women Operated for Breast Cancer), Komen Puglia, and the Fondazione ANT, with the patronage of the Municipality of Mattinata and the Puglia Region. Every step becomes a concrete gesture of care for one's own health and that of others, with moments dedicated to information on early diagnosis.
The Pink Walk is traditionally held in October, coinciding with prevention month. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced; they will be communicated by UISP Foggia-Manfredonia and the Municipality of Mattinata in the weeks leading up to the event. Those wishing to participate can follow the official organization channels for program details, times, and meeting points.
The 2026 Pink Walk in Mattinata does not yet have an official date. The initiative usually takes place in October, during the month of prevention, starting from the Belvedere di Monte Saraceno area.
