Oktoberfest in Trani is the beer festival that, in just a few editions, has become one of the most anticipated autumn events in this Apulian city. The setting is the scenic Piazza Sant'Agostino (Piazza Gradenigo), overlooking the harbor and the waterfront, which for the occasion transforms into a true open-air Bavarian tent. The event is organized by the St. Augustine team, with the patronage of the Municipality of Trani.
The official Hofbräu beer
The heart of the event is the beer: authentic Hofbräu flows in Trani, one of the six historic breweries authorized to serve during the Oktoberfest in Munich. Classic varieties are offered, from lager to Märzen-style Oktoberfest, served in traditional Maßkrug, the one-liter steins. Wooden tables and benches imported from Germany and staff in traditional Bavarian costumes faithfully recreate the atmosphere of the great Munich tents.
Between Bavarian and Apulian flavors
The gastronomic offering is one of the event's strengths, featuring a twinning between German and local traditions. Alongside the great classics of Bavarian cuisine, you will find local dishes:
- pretzels, sausages, dumplings, potato salad, and apple strudel;
- sandwiches with sausage and Podolico caciocavallo cheese, porchetta, and grilled meats;
- vegetarian and vegan options, waffles, and chocolate desserts.
Music, DJ sets, and family fun
Each evening is accompanied by live music and DJ sets that enliven the square until late at night, featuring covers, bands, and musical selections. The atmosphere is the convivial and carefree one typical of Oktoberfest, designed for all ages: rides are set up for the little ones, making the festival an appointment suitable for families as well.
An event for Trani and the BAT
Born in 2024, the event has quickly established itself as one of the most successful additions to the event scene in Trani and the entire Barletta-Andria-Trani province in Puglia. Thanks to its central location, just a stone's throw from the Cathedral and the harbor, Oktoberfest in Trani combines the beer festival with the discovery of one of the most beautiful seaside towns in the region.

How to get there
By train: Trani station is on the Adriatic line (Bari-Foggia), about a 15-minute walk from the square. By car: Take the Trani exit from the SS16 bis; parking is available in the harbor area and near the center. By plane: Bari-Palese airport is about 50 km away.
Admission
Access to the area is generally free; you pay for beer, food, and drinks directly at the stalls. Detailed dates and times are communicated by the organizers on the St. Augustine social media channels.
