The Spring Festival of the Cappelletto is one of the most cherished gastronomic events in Massa Lombarda, a municipality in Bassa Romagna, Province of Ravenna (Emilia-Romagna). Now in its eighth edition in 2026, the event takes place at the Fruges Neighborhood Center, on via IV Novembre, transforming this corner of the town for a few days into a large open-air gathering where home-style cooking is the absolute star.

Cappelletto, a Symbol of Romagna

Cappelletto is more than just a dish; it's a family ritual passed down through generations in Romagna. At the Fruges festival, it's the 'azdore' – the 'rezdore', the women of the house who are guardians of tradition – who roll out the dough with a rolling pin and hand-close, one by one, the cappelletti that will end up steaming on visitors' plates. Alongside cappelletti, you'll also find handmade tortellini and other great classics of Romagnola cuisine, in a simple and genuine menu designed to satisfy the whole family.
