The largest antiques and collectibles market in the province of Bologna
The I Portici di Medicina Market Exhibition is one of the most recognized antique events in Emilia-Romagna. Once a month, the historic center of the Municipality of Medicina, in the Metropolitan City of Bologna, comes alive with the stalls of about 390 exhibitors who set up under the characteristic arcades of Via Libertà, in Piazza Garibaldi, and along all the streets of the town. Founded in 2004, the event has established itself as the largest antiques and collectibles market in the province of Bologna and among the most important in Italy.
The market is a real opportunity for enthusiasts, collectors, and the simply curious. Strolling among the stands, you can discover:
Alongside true antiques, there is also space for modern antiques, collectibles, and crafts, in a journey that combines the rediscovery of past objects with the pleasure of a walk under the arcades.
The Market Exhibition is held every first Sunday of the month, excluding January, July, and August. Exhibitors set up their stalls from the early morning hours, around 7 AM, and the exhibition continues throughout the day. On holidays, the calendar may include special dates: in 2026, for example, the April event is moved to Sunday, March 29, due to Easter.
Organized by the Associazione I Portici di Medicina with the patronage of the Municipal Administration, the event has become an important attraction for the center of Medicina and the entire Bolognese plain area. Market day is also an opportunity to discover the village, its arcades, and its local businesses, in an atmosphere that combines commerce, material culture, and Emilia's popular tradition. Admission is free.
