The Castel Bolognese summer program: over 80 events from May to September
Every year, from May to September, the Municipality of Castel Bolognese (province of Ravenna, in Emilia-Romagna) transforms its historic center and hamlets into a large open-air stage. Summer Evenings is the unified program that gathers and coordinates events for the warm season: a multidisciplinary, free review designed to accompany residents and visitors throughout the Romagna summer.
Promoted by the Municipal Department of Culture, with the "Luigi Dal Pane" Municipal Library, the Civic Museum, and numerous local associations, the event presents over 80 appointments: concerts, theater and cabaret shows, film screenings, literary meetings, guided tours, sports events, markets, and workshops for children.
The heart of the July program is the evocative Cloister of the Municipal Residence, while other events are spread across the "Luigi Dal Pane" Library, the Civic Museum, Ravaioli Park, the Scodellino Mill, and the town's squares and parks. The museum's guided tours lead to the discovery of the city's main artistic sites, such as the Church of San Sebastiano and the Angelo Biancini Open-Air Museum.
Several consolidated and community-awaited events return every year: Portofranko, the festival of art, music, and beer; Acque e Miracoli a Tebano, dinners among the vineyards with cultural programming; the film review Campi Visivi; events at the Scodellino Mill; the AVIS Festival, the Festival of the Gardens, children's markets in Ravaioli Park, and the In mezzo scorre il fiume festival.
The calendar is deliberately dynamic and new events are added throughout the months: the complete program and updates are disseminated through the official channels of the Municipality of Castel Bolognese. A formula that, year after year, has made Summer Evenings one of the most beloved events in the Bassa Romagna and Faenza areas.
The seventeenth edition of Summer Evenings confirms itself as the grand container of the Castel Bolognese summer: over 80 events from May to September 2026, promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Castel Bolognese together with the "Luigi Dal Pane" Library, the Civic Museum, and local associations.
The July program takes place mainly in the Cloister of the Municipal Residence, featuring cabaret, literary meetings, concerts, and theater for children, while the Library and Museum offer readings, workshops for children, and guided tours of the city's art sites.
