Flavours of the sea, jazz music, and culture along the Gold Coast
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Sea and Taste Festival is a travelling event held in summer along the Gold Coast, the stretch of coastline in the province of Palermo that runs from Bagheria to Pollina. The festival involves ten coastal municipalities and makes Termini Imerese, in the Metropolitan City of Palermo, one of its most evocative stops, where maritime tradition meets great jazz music.
The festival is driven by the idea of an experiential journey that combines music, culinary traditions, excursions, and culture. Each event comes to life at sunset with free tastings of the local catch, regional wines, and traditional desserts, followed by a jazz concert under the stars. The common thread is the celebration of the sea and its products, showcased through dishes such as sarde a beccafico, pasta with sardines and wild fennel, fish couscous, and octopus caponata.
In Termini Imerese, the festival brings its events to the city's iconic landmarks: Piazza Duomo, the Teatro Belvedere, and the nearby archaeological site of Himera, one of the most important Greek colonies in Sicily. Alongside fish tastings and concerts, the programme offers guided tours that allow visitors to discover the area's historical and archaeological heritage, in a continuous dialogue between flavours, landscape, and memory.
The event is promoted by the FLAG GALP Golfo di Termini Imerese, the local action group in the fishing sector that works to enhance coastal communities and the district's fish supply chains. The festival was created to support the maritime economy, promote sustainable tourism, and rediscover the gastronomic traditions of Sicilian seaside villages.
More than just a single event, the Sea and Taste Festival is a widespread festival that enlivens the weekends of the Gold Coast towns over several summer months. In Termini Imerese, it becomes an opportunity to experience the seafront and the historic centre in a festive atmosphere, amidst good food, live music, and the beauty of the northern Sicilian coastal landscape.
The 2026 edition of the Sea and Taste Festival in Termini Imerese has not yet been officially confirmed. Pending the announcement of the calendar by the FLAG GALP Golfo di Termini Imerese, it is likely that the festival will continue its proven format of free local fish tastings, sunset jazz concerts, and guided tours of the area. This page will be updated with dates and programme details as soon as they become available.
Termini Imerese can be reached by car via the A19 Palermo-Catania motorway, taking the Termini Imerese exit. The city is also served by the Palermo-Messina railway line, with a station in the town centre. The nearest airport is Falcone-Borsellino in Palermo, approximately 60 km away.
Tastings and concerts are generally free to attend; for tastings, online booking is often required due to limited capacity.
It is advisable to arrive early to secure a spot for the evening events and to combine your visit with the archaeological site of Himera, located just a few kilometres from the centre.
