Bagheria's Christmas program featuring markets, lights, concerts, and the artisan fair on Corso Umberto I

Every year, as the Feast of the Immaculate Conception approaches, Bagheria—a city in the Province of Palermo renowned for its Baroque villas and the painter Renato Guttuso—dresses up for the Christmas celebrations. The Christmas in Bagheria program brings together dozens of initiatives promoted by the Municipality alongside local associations, parishes, schools, and cultural groups, enlivening the city center and the seaside hamlet of Aspra.
The beating heart of the festival is 'A Creative Christmas', an artisan fair organized by the Le Muse artistic-cultural association under the patronage of the Municipality. Along Corso Umberto I, the city's main pedestrian thoroughfare, a stroll comes to life among stalls decorated with lights and Christmas ornaments, where hobbyists and artisans offer handmade goods, gift ideas, and original creations. The spirit of the initiative is captured in its slogan: 'Give something special this Christmas: buy handmade!'
Alongside the fair, the Piccolo Parco Urbano turns into a Christmas village featuring food stalls, traditional sweets, mulled wine, and gift ideas, while artistic illuminations and lit trees in the squares create a festive atmosphere. There is also a Santa's House dedicated to little ones, nativity scenes in the churches, and traveling performances along the main street.
The program is punctuated by choral concerts, recitals, theater and dance performances, street entertainment, and creative workshops for children, often focusing on recycling and reuse. The musical festival, titled in recent years 'Christmas: A Festival of Lights and Notes – Sing a song…for Christmas', brings choirs, bands, and local artists to the squares and churches of Bagheria, with events continuing until Epiphany.
Designed for families and visitors alike, Christmas in Bagheria is an opportunity to rediscover the historic center of this Sicilian town during the most evocative time of the year, amidst artisan shopping, traditional flavors, and the popular customs that animate Sicily during the holidays.
At the moment, the Municipality of Bagheria has not yet released the official calendar for Christmas 2026. Based on previous editions, a new Christmas program is expected in December, featuring the 'A Creative Christmas' artisan fair along Corso Umberto I, markets at the Piccolo Parco Urbano, and a series of concerts and shows. The detailed program will be announced by the organizers on the Municipality's official channels.
Events take place in the center of Bagheria (PA), primarily along Corso Umberto I, at the Piccolo Parco Urbano, and in the main city squares, as well as in the hamlet of Aspra.
Bagheria is located about 15 km from Palermo. It is served by the railway station on the Palermo–Messina line (frequent regional trains) and by the Bagheria motorway exit on the A19 Palermo–Catania.
The Christmas program typically runs from December 8th until Epiphany (January 6th). The 'A Creative Christmas' fair is held in the second half of December.
Access to markets and street events is generally free.
