Over half a century of gastronomic tradition in the Erro Valley
In Pontinvrea, a municipality in the Erro Valley in the province of Savona, the Sausage Festival is one of the most deeply rooted gastronomic events in the hinterland. Organized by the Pro Loco in collaboration with the Municipality, the event has been celebrating local sausage, a symbolic dish of the peasant tradition of these valleys, for over half a century.
In 2026, the festival was included in the calendar of Authentic Ligurian Events of the Liguria Region, a recognition reserved for events that enhance a typical dish or an authentic zero-kilometer product, with a solid historical foundation and a strong link to the territory's traditions. Pontinvrea, along with nearby Mioglia, represents one of the first entries from the Erro Valley in this prestigious regional list.
The festive day combines food stalls, where sausage is prepared according to the local recipe, with music and entertainment that evoke the convivial spirit of village festivals. An opportunity to discover the authenticity of the Savona hinterland and the flavors of the Erro Valley.
For 2026, the Pontinvrea Sausage Festival reaches its 60th edition, scheduled for September 13 and included in the regional calendar of Authentic Ligurian Events. The day offers food stalls with sausage prepared according to the local recipe, accompanied by music and entertainment. Detailed schedule information will be provided by the Pro Loco closer to the event.
Detailed times will be published by the Pontinvrea Pro Loco.
