The Ovada Antique and Second-Hand Market is one of the most beloved and anticipated events in the town calendar. Created to revitalize and enhance the commercial fabric of the historic center, for thirty years it has attracted antique enthusiasts, collectors, curious visitors, and families looking for a different kind of day out among the stalls to the town of Ovada, in the Province of Alessandria. Organized by the Pro Loco of Ovada and the Ovadese Monferrato, the market takes place seven times a year, always coinciding with major public holidays.

Seven dates in the heart of the Ovadese Monferrato

The rhythm of the event follows the holiday calendar: it starts on Easter Monday, continues with May 1st, the Republic Day on June 2nd, and Ferragosto (mid-August), before closing the year with autumn and winter dates in October, All Saints' Day, and the Immaculate Conception. This schedule allows visitors to return multiple times and discover new exhibitors and merchandise each time.

What you can find at the stalls

The stalls, set up by numerous exhibitors from various regions of Northern Italy, wind from the main squares to the side streets, from Piazza XX Settembre — the true symbolic entrance to the exhibition — to Piazzetta Stura and beyond. Among the stalls, you can find:

• ornaments, ceramics, chandeliers, and old household items;
• antique and second-hand books, vinyl records, and prints;
• coins, stamps, and collectibles;

Thirty years of history

Reaching its thirtieth anniversary in 2026, the Market has successfully regained visibility and attendance in recent years, following the slowdown linked to the pandemic. Its simple and proven formula — an open-air, free antique market spread throughout the historic center — continues to make Ovada a reference point for the sector throughout south-eastern Piedmont and the lower Monferrato area.
