The local village festival in the Sant'Antonio district, featuring music, street food, and vintage cars in the heart of the Roero region.
The Sant'Antonio Festival takes place every June in the small Sant'Antonio district of Monticello d'Alba, in the Roero territory of the Cuneo province, Piedmont. Organized by the Pro Loco of Monticello d'Alba in collaboration with the Amici di Valle Rossi and the Ecomuseo delle Rocche, the event is rooted in the tradition of the patronal feast dedicated to Saint Anthony. Over the years, it has become a highly anticipated summer event that blends popular devotion, fine food, and entertainment.
The heart of the festival is the area adjacent to the former district schools, which becomes the village's main meeting point for the weekend. The streets fill with aromas during the street food and beer evenings, while the stage hosts live concerts and DJ sets that keep the party going late into the night. Among the most popular events is the 'asàdo' under the stars, a massive open-air barbecue that attracts many diners every year, along with the traditional Sunday gathering of vintage and sports cars.
The festival is more than just music and gastronomy: it kicks off with a nighttime nature walk organized with the Ecomuseo delle Rocche, guiding participants through the landscape of the Roero 'Rocche' (gullies), with its unique ravines and woodlands. It is a chance to experience the deep bond between the community of Monticello d'Alba and its land, defined by rolling hills, vineyards, and ancient farming traditions.
Part of the rich calendar of festivals and fairs that bring the hills between the Langhe and Roero to life, the Sant'Antonio Festival is one of those genuine moments where a small village opens its doors to everyone. Families, young people, and enthusiasts of good food and motors will find a simple, welcoming atmosphere here—the hallmark of Piedmontese festivals—where sharing a meal and music is the true highlight.
The Sant'Antonio district is located about 1.5 km from the center of Monticello d'Alba (CN), in the Roero. By car, it is easily accessible from Alba and Bra; the reference motorway exits are Marene (A6 Turin-Savona) or Asti Est (A33), then continuing towards Alba. The nearest train station is in Alba, just a few kilometers away.
Admission to the festival is free. Gastronomic evenings (street food, beer, 'asàdo' under the stars) are fee-based; for dinners requiring reservations, it is recommended to contact the Pro Loco in advance.
