Three evenings of strawberries, Tuscan cuisine, and dancing in the Pisan countryside
Every year, towards the end of May, the small village of Sant'Andrea in Pescaiola, in the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme (Province of Pisa, Tuscany), transforms into the capital of the strawberry. The Strawberry Festival, organized by the Circolo CICA La Fragola, is one of the most deep-rooted village festivals on the Pisan plain: three evenings where Tuscan conviviality meets the sweetest red fruit of spring.
The first edition dates back to 1978, when it was little more than a village party serving only strawberries. Over the years, the event has grown: in 1998, a permanent structure was built, and in 2007, a large wooden canopy was added, which today houses the kitchen, tables, and dance floor. From a simple neighborhood gathering, the festival has become a true gastronomic event that attracts thousands of visitors every year from the areas around Pisa, Lucca, and the entire Monte Pisano.
The menu is a tribute to traditional Tuscan cuisine, prepared and served by the club's volunteers. Among the most popular dishes:
Each evening is enlivened by live music and entertainment: from dance music, spanning from the 80s to current hits, to Caribbean and Latin dances, and traditional ballroom and group dancing, not to mention the unmissable magic shows. The Circolo La Fragola dance floor is the beating heart of the festival, where people gather to dance until late in a friendly and carefree atmosphere.
With free entry to both the festival and the dance floor, the Sant'Andrea in Pescaiola Strawberry Festival is an event designed for all ages. It is the perfect opportunity to discover an authentic corner of the Pisan countryside, just minutes from the thermal baths of San Giuliano and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and to savor the simple, genuine flavors of Tuscany.
The 47th edition of the Strawberry Festival was held on Friday, May 22, Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, 2026, in the village of Sant'Andrea in Pescaiola, in San Giuliano Terme (Pisa). As per tradition, the organizers of the Circolo La Fragola offered three evenings of food, music, fun, and strawberries, under the club's large canopy.
The food stands offered classics of Tuscan cuisine and the inevitable strawberries served with cream, ice cream, lemon, or liqueur. Entry was free to both the festival and the dance floor.
The 2026 edition repeated the festival's established formula, with food stands opening every evening from 7:30 PM and evening entertainment.
The evenings, as every year, were enlivened by live music, disco, and dancing (dance, Latin and Caribbean dances, ballroom). The specific musical program was not released in detail on official channels.
The festival is held at the Circolo La Fragola, in Piazza Borromeo 2, in the village of Sant'Andrea in Pescaiola, Municipality of San Giuliano Terme (PI), about 7 km from Pisa.
By car: take the Pisa Nord exit on the A11/A12 motorway, then follow signs for San Giuliano Terme; there is ample parking around the club. By train: arrive at Pisa Centrale station, then continue by bus or taxi to Sant'Andrea in Pescaiola.
Food stands open every evening for dinner starting at 7:30 PM (cash desk from 7:00 PM); the dance floor opens around 9:00 PM.
Free entry to the festival and the dance floor. You can book seats online via the official website.
