Trinità's patronal feast: a blend of faith, motors, tradition, and local flavor
Saint George is the patron saint of Trinità, a small town in the province of Cuneo, in the heart of southern Piedmont, once a fiefdom of the Counts Costa. Its patronal festival, celebrated around April 23rd (the saint's liturgical day), is one of the most anticipated events of the year: a long program that, in the 2026 edition, runs from April 18th to 27th, with the heart of the festivities concentrated on the weekend of April 24th, 25th, and 26th, coinciding with the Liberation Day long weekend.
The Saint George Festival is a happy synthesis of different spirits. There is the religious dimension, with celebrations in honor of the patron saint and the laying of laurel wreaths at the war memorials. There is the popular tradition, with card games (the scopa tournament) and bocce matches that attract enthusiasts from all over the area. And there is the roar of engines from the "Burnout di primavera" Motorcycle Rally, now a classic of the Trinità spring, which brings dozens of bikers to town for a ride through the hills and the Langhe.
One of the most distinctive offerings is the Mandala Fest, an event dedicated to wellness and holistic disciplines held in the evocative setting of the Castello dei Conti Costa. Practitioners, exhibitors, and curious visitors gather for a day of harmony, in a historical context that adds further value to the initiative.
The convivial dimension, the true glue of the festival, is not lacking: the Grand Polenta Feast for all at the Bocciofila, the "Creatori d'ingegno" (Creators of Ingenuity) stands featuring crafts and creativity in Piazza Umberto I, the traditional "colassion dèl gal", and guided tours of the Town Hall. For children and families, the funfair in Piazza Conte Costa accompanies the entire duration of the event. An authentic village festival, capable of uniting generations and telling the story of Trinità's identity.
The 2026 edition of the Saint George Patronal Festival in Trinità (CN) spanned ten days, from April 18th to 27th, concentrating the most important events during the April 25th long weekend. A community festival rich in tradition, sport, faith, and conviviality, organized by the Municipality of Trinità and the Pro Loco with the involvement of numerous local associations.
Trinità is located in the province of Cuneo, on the plain between Fossano and Mondovì. By car, it can be reached from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Carrù-Mondovì exit) or from the state road connecting Cuneo to Fossano. The nearest train station is in Fossano, on the Turin-Savona line.
