A village that becomes a fairytale

For one day in early December, the historic center of Chiusa di Pesio (in the province of Cuneo, at the foot of the Piedmontese Maritime Alps) transforms into a truly enchanted landscape. In the Enchanted Village is the town's major Christmas event: a day that fills the streets and squares with lights, scents, and festive storytelling atmospheres, designed to welcome both adults and children.

The market and ancient crafts

The heart of the event is the themed Christmas market, with exhibitor stalls scattered throughout the historic center. Alongside artisanal creations and artistic displays, visitors can find demonstrations of ancient crafts and plenty of sweet and savory delicacies: from roasted chestnuts to mulled wine, hot chocolate, and traditional Cuneo specialties. Among the most beloved attractions is the mule-drawn carriage, which takes visitors through the festively decorated village.

Nativity scenes, music, and magic

One of Chiusa di Pesio's most cherished traditions is "Window Nativity Scenes", an initiative that has enchanted visitors—even from outside the region—since 2005: windowsills, windows, and corners of the town are populated with nativity scenes, creating a picturesque trail among the houses. The day is accompanied by live music, with the Duo Frix, bagpipers, and the "Guido Vallauri" Music Band enlivening the streets with Christmas melodies.

The lighting of the hand-stitched tree

The highlight arrives at twilight with the lighting of the large Christmas tree handmade by the "Filo che passione" group: an imposing structure, about four meters high and nearly three meters wide, entirely stitched together, which lights up to bring the day to a beautiful close.

A community event

Born in 2019, the event is the result of the work of the Municipality of Chiusa di Pesio, the Pro Loco Turismo in Valle Pesio, the Tourist Office, and numerous local associations and citizen groups. Along with the Ciüsa Duvarta in late August and the King Chestnut Festival in October, In the Enchanted Village is one of the key dates in the town's calendar in the Pesio Valley, a borderland near the Marguareis Natural Park.
