Half a century of history

The Sagra dell'Oca in Morsano al Tagliamento is a true institution in the Friulian gastronomic calendar. Founded in the seventies, it celebrated its 50th edition in 2024, confirming itself as one of the longest-running and most attended festivals in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It takes place in November in via Latisana, spread over three weekends, and revolves around the feast of Saint Martin (November 11th), the patron saint and traditional occasion to celebrate the goose.

The goose of peasant tradition

The menu is a tribute to the simple and skillful cuisine of the lower Friuli region: goose stew with polenta, roast goose, gnocchi and paccheri with goose ragù, cured meats and sandwiches, accompanied by traditional desserts and local wines. For those who don't like goose, there are alternatives, from pork shank to cutlets, to polenta dishes. All served under a heated marquee, with an order reservation system, gluten-free options, and ample free parking.

Saint Martin and community celebration

November 11th, Saint Martin's Day, is the highlight with a community dinner and a special menu. Each weekend also features exhibitions, markets, live music, lotteries, and shows, while Sunday afternoons are dedicated to free workshops for children. It is the festival that closes the agricultural season and accompanies the Friulian autumn with warmth and conviviality.

In the Pordenone lowlands

Organized in the territory of the Municipality of Morsano al Tagliamento (Province of Pordenone), the festival is a reference point for typical cuisine enthusiasts from all over the Northeast, who return to Morsano every November to rediscover the authentic flavors of Friulian goose.
