In Migliano, a hamlet of the municipality of Marsciano in the province of Perugia, the Sagra del Cinghiale e dell'Arvoltolo is one of the most cherished summer events in the area. The festival celebrates two symbols of Umbrian country cuisine: wild boar meat, the queen of the hilly woods, and arvoltolo, a simple and tasty fried pasta rooted in peasant tradition.

A table that tells the story of Umbria

The food stalls open every evening at 7:30 PM and offer a rich menu: from the Migliano-style appetizer to wild boar, from wild boar pappardelle to umbricelli, including gnocchi, stew, large grilled steak (braciolona), and grilled lamb (agnello scottadito). There are also traditional flatbreads (torte al testo) with local cured meats and, to finish, watermelon, tozzetti (biscotti), and vin santo. The arvoltolo, served hot, is the signature dish that gives the sagra its name.

Music and fun every evening

From 9:00 PM, the village comes alive with a varied musical calendar: DJ sets, folk music with I Principi di Galles, live concerts, and dancing nights with orchestras. It's a festival that unites generations, where traditional flavours and the joy of dancing nights coexist in the heart of the Marsciano countryside.
