Umbrian truffle celebrates in Ripa

Every summer, the hamlet of Ripa, in the municipality of Perugia, transforms into the truffle capital. The Sagra del Tartufo e dei Prodotti Tipici Perugini has been attracting thousands of visitors from all over Umbria for decades, drawn by a product that is a symbol of the regional gastronomic tradition and by an authentic popular festival atmosphere.

The Cuisine

The heart of the festival is the food stand, which opens every evening from 6:30 PM in the green area of Ripa, adjacent to the middle school. On the tables, you'll find the dishes that have made the event famous:

• Tagliatelle with truffle, the true signature dish of the festival
• Trofie and gnocchi with truffle
• Truffle-infused morsels and truffle burgers
• Grilled Umbrian meats, bruschetta, and local specialties

There is also a space dedicated to Bavarian craft beer, with numerous types on tap, and a children's area that makes the evening suitable for families.

Music and Entertainment

The ten evenings are marked by dancing nights, with a different orchestra each evening, and by side events such as the 'nfangata, a fun run and recreational event that livens up the hamlet. The ample free parking facilitates access from Perugia city and surrounding municipalities.

Organized by the Pro Loco of Ripa, the festival represents the most anticipated moment of the year for this small community in the province of Perugia: an example of how Umbria knows how to highlight its typical products, especially truffles, within a framework of conviviality and tradition.
