About Festa del Cinghiale

Every year in mid-July, Montegabbione (TR) celebrates one of the most typical products of its cuisine: wild boar. For five days, the village, nestled in the Umbrian greenery between Orvieto and Valdichiana, offers food stands with wild boar in a thousand preparations and many other local traditional dishes, accompanied by music and entertainment. A genuine village festival, an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Umbria.

Wild boar, king of the table

The Festa del Cinghiale (Wild Boar Festival) of Montegabbione is dedicated to the undisputed protagonist of Umbrian forest cuisine: wild boar, served in numerous preparations ranging from pasta sauces to stews and traditional main courses. Alongside the signature dish, there are plenty of other succulent local dishes, in a gastronomic journey that tells the deep connection between the village and its hilly, wooded territory.

Music and conviviality

The evenings of the Festa del Cinghiale combine good food with music and entertainment, with a program designed for families and visitors of all ages. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Montegabbione and is one of the most anticipated summer events in the area.
