The Sagra d'Estate is the main gastronomic festival of Dosso del Liro, a small mountain municipality in the province of Como, overlooking the Upper Lake Como. Organized by the Gruppo Volontari Dosso del Liro, it takes place in the communal garden and celebrates the traditional cuisine of the area in a convivial and family atmosphere.
Polenta uncia and traditional cuisine
The heart of the festival is the traditional menu: the star is polenta uncia, the signature dish of Como mountain cuisine, accompanied by braised beef with porcini mushrooms, tripe, grilled meats, local cheeses and cured meats, and homemade desserts. A genuine gastronomic offering that showcases local products and recipes passed down by the community.
Two days of celebration and dancing
The event takes place over two days: Saturday evening opens with dinner, while Sunday offers both lunch at midday and dinner in the evening. Both evenings are enlivened by music and dancing with ballroom music. Designed to withstand bad weather thanks to covered spaces, the Sagra d'Estate is an anticipated event that brings the village together and attracts visitors from the Upper Lake area, with good food and community spirit.
Sagra d'Estate — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Sagra d'Estate, the 25th, will take place on June 6 and 7 at the communal garden of Dosso del Liro. On Saturday, the festival opens from 6:30 PM with dinner, while on Sunday, lunch is served at midday and dinner from 6:30 PM. The traditional menu includes polenta uncia, braised beef with porcini mushrooms, tripe, grilled meats, local cheeses and cured meats, and homemade desserts. Both evenings will be enlivened by ballroom dancing with DJ Fabio. The event, organized by the Gruppo Volontari Dosso del Liro, will take place even in case of rain thanks to covered spaces.
