A journey through history, art, and local flavours in Dongo
«Tesori Nascosti» is the guided tour project that, from March to December, accompanies citizens and tourists in discovering the village of Dongo (province of Como), one of the most evocative centres of the Upper Lake Como. Fifteen events, led by professional guides in Italian and English, lead the public through the symbolic places of the town in a journey that combines history, art, and taste.
The route touches three city treasures: the Museum of the End of the War, dedicated to the historical events of April 1945; the historic rooms of Palazzo Manzi, the institutional and artistic heart with the famous Golden Room, a jewel of neoclassicism; and the Franciscan Convent with its library, an immersion into the spirituality and culture of the fifteenth century, amidst frescoed cloisters and precious ancient manuscripts.
What makes «Tesori Nascosti» special is the sensory experience that blends monumental heritage with the gastronomic excellences of the territory: at the end of each visit, a zero-km aperitif with typical local products and traditional music is provided. The project, supported by the Lombardy Region as part of the «Lombardia Style» program, enhances the authentic soul of the lakeside village and enriches the cultural offerings of the Upper Lake Como.
The 2026 edition of «Tesori Nascosti» takes place in Dongo from March 28 to December 19, with 15 events spread throughout the year (among the dates: March 28, April 25, May 31, and then from July to December). The tours, led by professional guides in Italian and English, accompany visitors to discover the Museum of the End of the War, the historic rooms of Palazzo Manzi — with the famous Golden Room — and the Franciscan Convent with its library. At the end of each visit, a zero-km aperitif with typical local products and traditional music is provided. Admission is free with mandatory booking.
