The Sagra della Patata di Piantedo
Piantedo is the municipality that opens Valtellina coming from Lake Como, at the entrance of the valley in the province of Sondrio. Here, every July, the Pro Loco of Piantedo organizes the Sagra della Patata, one of the most popular gastronomic festivals in the lower valley, which in 2025 will reach its eighth edition.
The potato is the star, featured in numerous preparations: from gnocchi with ragù or with bresaola and casera cheese flakes, to octopus with potatoes, to taroz, potato muffins, and roast beef with fries. The evening, held under the covered marquee at the Area Feste in via Garibaldi, includes an afternoon happy hour, dinner, and live music, as well as activities like the water volleyball tournament.
The sagra is paired with the Beer Festival, held the previous evening with its tenth edition in 2025: two consecutive events that make Piantedo, at the entrance to the province of Sondrio, a landmark of the Valtellina gastronomic summer.
Sagra della Patata — edition 2026
For the summer of 2026, the Pro Loco of Piantedo will again host the Sagra della Patata, now a well-established event in the July calendar. The tried-and-tested formula includes an evening under the covered marquee at the Area Feste, with an afternoon happy hour, a potato-themed dinner, and live music, as well as side activities like the water volleyball tournament.
As per tradition, the preceding evening is dedicated to the Beer Festival. The precise date for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco on its official channels in the weeks leading up to it.

The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the Pro Loco of Piantedo. The usual structure of the day includes:
- Afternoon: water volleyball tournament and happy hour
- Evening: potato-themed dinner (gnocchi, octopus and potatoes, taroz, roast beef with fries, potato muffins)
- Live music
The preceding evening: Beer Festival.
