Six days of music, traditions, performances, and flavors in the Roero hills
The Roero Festival is the summer event that transforms Santo Stefano Roero, a small town in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont, into the capital of local conviviality every year. Born in the late 1960s, the event reaches its 57th edition in 2026: a testament to its longevity and the deep bond between the community and its hilly landscape, now part of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato vineyard landscape recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Santo Stefano Roero with the support of the municipality, the festival spans six days in June, offering a program that blends popular culture, entertainment, and gastronomy. The common thread remains the same: gathering in the square, among the orange-roofed houses and the famous rocche (badlands) of Roero, to share music and good food.
The food and wine heart of the festival is the selection of great wines from Santo Stefano Roero. Every evening, the festival bar serves Roero DOCG, Nebbiolo, and Arneis—the white grape variety that symbolizes these hills—alongside craft beers from local producers. The kitchen, active during the peak weekend days, pairs these wines with typical dishes from the province of Cuneo and Piedmont.
More than just a food and wine festival, the Santo Stefano Roero event is a celebration of identity that involves associations, volunteers, and residents of all generations. From charity initiatives to cultural programs, and from children's activities to fans of singer-songwriter music, the Roero Festival speaks to a wide audience every year, confirming its status as one of the most representative events of the Roero summer.
