A centuries-old fair in the heart of Val Pellice

The Regional Saints' Fair is one of the most deeply rooted events in the Piedmontese calendar. Its origins date back to 1256, when the village of Luserna was granted the right to hold a market; in 1562, a petition from the local community secured official confirmation from the Duke of Savoy for the fair to be held "on All Saints' Day and the following days." Since then, every November 1st and 2nd, the town of Luserna San Giovanni, in the province of Turin, transforms into a vibrant crossroads of rural tradition, commerce, and popular celebration.

The livestock heart: the parade of herds

The most anticipated and iconic moment is the parade of herds: breeders, some in historical costumes and accompanied by musicians, march through the town center with their livestock. It is the living legacy of a fair born for cattle trading, which still brings together hundreds of cattle, sheep, and goats from the surrounding valleys and plains today.
