The grand food and wine festival of the Cebano Pro Loco associations in the historic center of Ceva
Pro Loco in Festa is one of the most beloved food and wine events in Ceva, a town in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont, located at the crossroads between the Langhe and the valleys leading toward Liguria. For one evening—usually a Saturday in early June—the town's historic center comes alive with stalls from the Cebano Pro Loco associations and surrounding towns, in a festival that serves as both a showcase for the region and a meeting point for residents and visitors alike.
The event is promoted by UNPLI (National Union of Pro Loco of Italy) in collaboration with the Ceva Pro Loco and the Municipality of Ceva. Its spirit is to network the many small Pro Loco associations from the Cebano valleys, the Tanaro Valley, and the Upper Langa, which bring the best of their local festivals to the town square for one night. Over the years, associations from towns such as Bagnasco, Battifollo, Castellino Tanaro, Castelnuovo di Ceva, Garessio, Lesegno, Ormea, Priola, Sale delle Langhe, Sale San Giovanni, Scagnello, and many others have participated, each showcasing their own specialty.
Food is the true star: every stall tells the story of a small village through its dishes. Specialties featured at the festival include cheeses on chestnut bread, Piedmontese fassone beef tartare, tajarin pasta, purple potato gnocchi, buckwheat polenta, fried snails, chickpea soup, roast suckling pig, and traditional desserts like bunet, apple fritters, and gelato with paste di meliga cornmeal cookies.
Pro Loco in Festa is much more than a food festival: it is the moment when Ceva becomes the gastronomic capital of its territory, and where the small valley towns present themselves side-by-side. For those visiting the province of Cuneo, it is the ideal opportunity to discover the variety of flavors from the Langhe, the Tanaro Valley, and the Piedmontese high mountains in one place, all while immersed in the convivial and welcoming atmosphere typical of village festivals.
The new edition of Pro Loco in Festa is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026, in the town center of Ceva, in the province of Cuneo, as part of the national weekend dedicated to Pro Loco associations (June 12-14, 2026).
For 2026, the festival, promoted by UNPLI with the Ceva Pro Loco and the Municipality, will once again bring together the Pro Loco associations of the Cebano area and neighboring valleys with their food stalls, musical entertainment, and a family-friendly area. The detailed program, including the list of participating associations, schedules, and specialties, will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event.
Ceva is located in the province of Cuneo, Piedmont. By car, it is easily accessible from the A6 Turin-Savona motorway (Ceva exit). By train, the Ceva station is served by the Turin-Savona and Ceva-Ormea lines. The event takes place in the historic center, which is within walking distance of the station.
The event is usually held on an evening in early June, with stalls opening in the evening and the children's area available from the late afternoon.
Admission to the festival is free. You pay for food and drinks at the individual Pro Loco stalls, with affordable prices.
It is advisable to arrive early to find parking near the center and enjoy a leisurely walk through the porticoes and stalls.
