The autumn mountain potato festival in the heart of Val di Non
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the small village of Ronzone, nestled on the plateau of the Upper Val di Non in the autonomous province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige), the arrival of autumn has coincided for over twenty years with a highly anticipated community event: the Potato and Autumn Flavors Festival. A humble staple of the mountain peasant diet, the potato grown at these altitudes becomes the absolute star for an entire weekend, filling the village's historic center with scents, colors, and music.
Gastronomy is the heart of the festival. At the food stands set up by Pro Loco Ronzone, visitors can enjoy traditional Nonesa specialties based on potatoes: the essential gnocchi di patate smalzadi, fried tortei di patate, hot mountain dishes, and autumn desserts. Along the village streets, stalls offer local farm-to-table products, from mountain dairy cheeses to cured meats, and from Val di Non apples to fresh garden produce.
Beyond the excellent food, the event offers a rich entertainment program:
The festival is also the perfect opportunity to discover Ronzone, a village of just over five hundred inhabitants overlooking the Brenta Dolomites. Don't miss the Giardino della Rosa (Rose Garden), included since 2018 in the Great Italian Gardens circuit, featuring hundreds of organically grown rose varieties, and the church of Sant'Antonio. An autumn weekend that combines gastronomic tradition, nature, and conviviality in the heart of the Municipality of Ronzone and the Val di Non.
The Potato and Autumn Flavors Festival in Ronzone is set to renew its traditional autumn appointment in the village's historic center in the Val di Non in 2026. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by Pro Loco Ronzone at the time of publication. As every year, the program is expected to include traditional potato-based dishes, markets, live music, and activities for children. For official dates and the final program, please consult the Pro Loco Ronzone social media channels.
The festival takes place in the historic center of Ronzone (38010), Upper Val di Non, autonomous province of Trento.
