The weekly farmers' market in the town square of Nalles
The Bauernmarkt in Nals is the weekly farmers' market held on Rathausplatz, the newly renovated town square in the center of Nalles (Nals in German), a municipality in the province of Bolzano in South Tyrol. Every Friday morning, from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, local farmers' stalls fill the square with the colors, scents, and flavors of the South Tyrolean countryside.
The stars of the show are the fresh, local products grown by farmers from Nalles and the hamlet of Sirmiano, perched high above the village. Seasonal fruit and vegetables, with the famous South Tyrolean apples taking center stage, are accompanied by traditional mountain farming specialties. It is the perfect opportunity to shop for authentic, sustainable food directly from the growers and to discover the gastronomic richness of this corner of the Adige Valley.
The market is organized by the Nalles Tourist Board (Tourismusverein Nals) and fits perfectly into the village's identity. Nalles, nicknamed the "village of roses" for the flowerbeds that adorn its streets, is located halfway between Bolzano and Merano and serves as the northern starting point of the South Tyrolean Wine Road. Surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards, the municipality has always been tied to fruit growing and viticulture—traditions that the Bauernmarkt celebrates and keeps alive week after week.
For many years, Nalles farmers have been offering their produce in the town square from spring until late autumn. More than just a market, the Bauernmarkt is a meeting point for the community and visitors alike, who can stroll between the stalls, savor the quality of South Tyrolean products, and soak up the authentic atmosphere of a mountain village dedicated to the land.
For the 2026 season, the Nalles farmers' market confirms its regular schedule: every Friday from July 17 to December 18, from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, on the Rathausplatz. There are 23 dates accompanying the South Tyrolean summer and autumn.
The stalls offer seasonal fruit and vegetables, with apples in the spotlight, and fresh products from the farmers of Nalles and the hamlet of Sirmiano. Admission is free. The market is organized by the Nalles Tourist Board.
