Porchetta and Tortellini Festival

A village festival in the heart of Bassa Romagna

When May arrives, Lavezzola — a hamlet of the Municipality of Conselice, in the province of Ravenna, right in the Bassa Romagna plain — transforms for a long weekend into the capital of porchetta and tortellini. The Porchetta and Tortellini Festival, founded in 1982 and reaching its 43rd edition in 2026, is one of the most cherished gastronomic events in the area and attracts thousands of visitors from all over Romagna and beyond every year.

The heart: porchetta and tortellini

The absolute star is the large stufone, where the pork roasts that give the festival its name are cooked. Alongside the spit-roasted porchetta, you'll find handmade tortellini, a true symbol of Emilian-Romagnol cuisine, as well as piadina with cured meats, hamburgers, pork & chips, and a wide selection of aperitifs and cocktails. The food stands and bar-restaurant areas are open every evening and, on weekends, also for lunch, with takeaway service and tables for dining together.

Not just gastronomy

The festival is much more than a feast: the historic center's squares host alternating live music performances, folk dances, majorette exhibitions, and entertainment for all ages. The funfair comes alive in Piazza Tiziano, while hobbyist markets line the village streets. For car and sports enthusiasts, there are vintage car and motorcycle rallies, Vespa rallies, cycling tours, and sport fishing competitions. There is also space for art, with the painting exhibition "La Borgottiana" and the DART exhibition at Villa Verlicchi.

A festival with a charitable heart

What makes this festival special is its community spirit: organized by volunteers from the Associazione Sagra Lavezzola, it donates its proceeds to the Romagnolo Oncology Institute (IOR). Eating well here also means supporting research and assistance for cancer patients in the area. It is this blend of good food, popular tradition, and generosity that makes the Porchetta and Tortellini Festival an unmissable event on the Bassa Romagna spring calendar.
